Thank you Subaru of Chico for providing trees to the community! These trees will leave an impact for generations to come. Through the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, we're proud to help create a cleaner, healthier future by giving back to the environment in a meaningful way. Our community is big on supporting tree planting efforts, helping restore natural spaces and improve air quality for generations to come. We at Butte Humane Society are always impressed with the generosity of our neighbors, Subaru of Chico. This year our Subaru Loves Pets raised $4,000 which helped 115 animals. The support from Subaru of Chico and Subaru USA helped us cover adoption fees which can be a big barrier for many of our potential adopters. We had 2 underdogs find a loving home as well as several long-stay dogs. Thank You for another great year!

I bought my first brand new Subaru from Subaru of Chico in 2023. During that time, the sale did not go as expected, but when I contacted the dealership, they went above and beyond to make the sale right and go as promised. I recently brought that same Subaru back in for the 60,000 mile service and a detail service. I have recently been experiencing low tire pressure and over the weekend, My tire was once again low. Well, Monday morning, I had to catch a flight and as a mom of four and working full-time in a high-pressure job - I had no wiggle room to come back and even swap out a car for a loaner before I left for my trip. I was picturing myself stranded at the airport late at night when I flew back in Wednesday to come back to a flat tire. Your service manager, Mike and Sam the technician worked to make sure I had a loaner car delivered to my home while I finished my last meeting of the morning so I could safely get to the airport and back. I retrieved my car this morning and while they can’t figure out why the tire keeps going low- I know that if I experience that again, I will be taken care of. I just wanted to pass this along as customer service isn’t always the priority of many businesses these days. I have experienced excellent customer service at your dealership, which makes me want to purchase my next vehicle with you.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Chico, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Subaru of Chico is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Subaru of Chico have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/15/2025, Subaru of Chico donated 120 coats to 6th Street Center for Youth. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Thank you Subaru of Chico for providing trees to the community! These trees will leave an impact for generations to come. In a region like ours here in Northern California where seasonal wildfires have left lasting scars on our landscape. These trees symbolize hope, renewal, and resilience. This act of kindness goes beyond beautification as it supports the health of our environment and strengthens our community’s commitment to recovery and growth. Thank you again.

This January, Subaru of Chico had a great time delivering brand new children’s coats, socks and shoes to Youth For Change in Chico. Youth for Change is a non-profit organization that directly works with the children in Butte County who are in need of their various programs. These brand new coats, socks and shoes will be given directly to the children who need them. Typically children grow a size every 4-6 months and it is tough to be a happy child when one is cold.

This October, Subaru of Chico and Subaru of America have made a significant impact on our shelter animals at Butte Humane Society. Thanks to their generous support, we’ve successfully found loving homes for many animals in need. As a 100% non-profit organization that relies entirely on donations—without any city, county, or federal funding—collaborations like this are crucial. We’re incredibly grateful for their generosity!

Meet Mowse, a 3-year-old kitty who was surrendered to us due to her previous owner's health conditions. Though she was a bit shy at first, she quickly warmed up to those around her. This easygoing girl had a wonderfully independent spirit but also loved to cuddle! We’re excited to share that Mowse has found her forever home and is ready to start her new adventure. Thanks to Subaru’s generosity, kitties like Mowse have a better chance of finding loving families. We couldn’t be happier for her and her new family!

Meet Meeka, an adorable 5-year-old Samoyed who had been in and out of our shelter since January. This sweet, playful, and affectionate pup won our hearts- but it took longer than expected to find her forever home. Thanks to Subaru Loves Pets, her adoption fee was fully sponsored! Her loving foster, who had been caring for her, saw the Subaru highlight on our story and knew she couldn't let Meeka go. Now, Meeka is on her way to a bright future, and we couldn’t be happier for her!

Breezy, is a 7-year-old Labrador Retriever mix. She is well trained, loves kids, but has a high drive to chase smaller animals. When she first came to Butte Humane Society in June of 2022 she was timid. After a lot of love and patience from our volunteers and staff she came out of her shell and became very affectionate and loved to cuddle. She quickly became a favorite among staff for walks and volunteers for our dog-on-the-go program where volunteers will take pets out to parks and around town for the day. By August of 2022 she was adopted but just two short weeks later she was returned. While we were all happy to see her again we were disappointed that she had not found her forever home. In October she adopted a second time and returned again two weeks later. Many of our volunteers were so enamored with her that several were considering adopting her themselves but in early November 2022 she was adopted a third time. We thought she had found her forever home, but unfortunately her adoptive parents had a change in life circumstances and in March of 2023 she found her way back to Butte Humane Society. Since March Breezy had been with us for 207 days continuously and a total of 357 days cumulative! Early this month with the help of the Subaru Loves Pets campaign and our outreach over social media a family came in and fell in love with Breezy. So far we’ve received one update from them and they said they are smitten with Breezy and their children are inseparable from her.

For more than 42 years, the Jesus Center has been providing services and supports to those in our local community experiencing homelessness, but we don’t do this work alone. With the incredible generosity of Courtesy Subaru of Chico, we were able to provide nearly 250 people with two new pairs of socks! A clean, dry pair of socks represents much more than a simple piece of clothing, it’s a way to remind people that they are thought of, cared for and loved! Thank you to Courtesy Subaru of Chico for leaning in and loving on people who are often forgotten. -Amber Abney-Bass, Executive Director

Thank you David and the Courtesy Subaru team for bringing out the cool water bottles and cool blue car to match, very stylish amongst the customized rides that the Subie Cvlt arrived in. As the years roll on we will continue to spread the good word of the Subaru support and will look forward to an even bigger show next year. Special shout out to David from Subaru – he was not feeling well and he still showed up to ensure that the brand and organization were well represented. Thanks for your hard work, sir!

Meet Blue, one of the most lovable under dogs EVER Blue came to Butte Humane Society (Chico, CA) in August 2021. She was a transfer from another shelter after her original owner didn't come to claim her. Upon intake, Blue tested positive for heartworm. Heartworm is a serious and possibly fatal disease, not to mention it is quite costly and takes multiple injectable treatments and oral medications to resolve. Because of the stress that heartworms put on the pulmonary system, Blue’s activity level had to be incredibly restricted. She was limited to on-leash walks only and as much rest as possible. After 6 months of treatment and ongoing care, sweet Blue still had little interest from adopters - and BHS was unable to find a foster home to accommodate her medical needs. It wasn’t certain when Blue’s forever family would come along and take her home for good, but BHS never gave up hope. After 449 days in the shelter, thanks to Subaru’s support, Blue was adopted (heartworm free!) by a loving and caring family. The staff and volunteers of BHS are beyond ecstatic for her! Her forever family says she’s doing really well at home and is strong and healthy as ever. Thank you to everyone at Courtesy Subaru of Chico for giving dog’s like Blue a second chance to find their forever home.

On behalf of the John McManus Elementary School learning community, I want to personally thank you for partnering with our school to support student success. The giant box full of school supplies has been put to use by our staff and students already. The generous monetary donations for the six classrooms will also go towards promoting student achievement as well. At McManus, we are extremely fortunate to have community partners like Subaru of Chico who go above and beyond to support McManus students.

Noah arrived at Butte Humane Society (BHS) originally in October of 2020 and was quickly adopted out. Unfortunately, that didn't last long as he made his way back to BHS in September of 2021 after showing up as a stray dog at a shelter in Oroville. He had a large wound on his left front foot that needed medical attention and BHS quickly sprung into action to help him. Although Noah needed bandage changes twice a week, he was the perfect patient while receiving care. Despite all Noah had been through, he was always happy to see staff every day, receive attention and go for walks. It took BHS time to find Noah the perfect home that would be able to continue his treatment and show him how awesome life can be. Low and behold, Noah was adopted out by a family member of a veterinary assistant that was able to help continue his treatment. It all worked out in the end for Noah. Thank you Courtesy Subaru for helping Noah find his forever home!

Roland came to Butte Humane Society (BHS) as an owner-surrender at 6 months of age with his sister Lilith. He faced medical issues that were challenging to resolve and included trying various medications and treatments to secure his health. However, this didn't stop Roland's loveable personality from shining through. He immediately became a staff favorite as he demanded attention from anyone who walked past his kennel and often tried to jump in your arms. Although an adorable kitten like himself, Roland's stay with BHS was surprisingly longer than expected as he kept getting passed over by potential adopters for other cats After a month of waiting in the shelter, he finally found his forever home his new family fell instantly in love and was able to take Roland home as a healthy and happy kitten. Thank you so much to Courtesy Subaru of Chico for bing a part of BHS and making these adoptions possible!

Simone came to Butte Humane Society (BHS) as a surrender from Neighborhood Cat Advocates at only 10 weeks old. She and her brother Bubbles contracted ringworm sometime before entering our shelter and started showing symptoms right after her spay surgery. Her spay incision has gotten infected, so BHS staff had to start slow with the ringworm treatment and focus on spot treating her lesions until her incision healed up. Simone was housed in the BHS sick room for about a month before she able to be cleared by a doctor and moved onto the adoption floor. Once she was put into the free roam room, her personality truly shined. Full of energy, Simone was constantly zooming around and always ready to play. Within two days of being available, Simone had found her forever home. Simone and her adopter were truly delighted to be united and went home healthy and happy. Thank you so much to Courtesy Subaru of Chico for being a part of BHS and making these adoptions possible!

Meet Snoopy. This 12-year old sweet senior came to Butte Humane Society (BHS) as a surrender. Even under the best of circumstances, sometimes there are situations that force families to make very difficult decisions. In Snoopy's case, a new baby came home with his human mom and dad. After making a valiant effort to transition the family together peacefully, they decided the best options was to try and find a new home for Snoopy so that he would be less stressed and cranky. Snoopy was placed into foster while the adoption team worked to hind him his true forever home. His foster delighted in his spunky personality, and zest for life. He acted more like a puppy than an old man. It truly did not take along for someone to fall in love with Snoopy, who could resist? After just 2 months in the BHS Dog Adoptions Program BHS found Snoopy a match! Both Snoopy and his adopter are delighted to have each other and BHS is honored to have helped make it possible for the. Thank You Courtesy Subaru of Chico for being a part of BHS and making these adoptions possible!

Butte Humane Society is announcing a donation of $100,000 from Courtesy Subaru of Chico, who claimed the naming opportunity for the "Get Acquainted Dog Yard" which will be outside at the Butte Humane Society's new facility. "The Pajouh's and Subaru of America have really stepped up for us and it's such a pleasure working with them and so many people in this community to turn this needed project into a reality" said Katrina Woodcox, Executive Director for Butte Humane Society. Woodcox added, "our current facilities are just not adequate to keep up with the needs of our community which has grown in both animal and human populations significantly since the 80's when we last upgraded our facilities. We are so excited to be building the animal facility our community deserves and we can't wait to get home!"

On Sunday, after enjoying a play at PV High School, we found our battery dead. Our son came and gave it a jump, but when we pulled away, an alarm sounded and would not stop as we drove. I suggested to see if Courtesy Subaru of Chico was open and low and behold, it was. I think the gents name is Matt "Subaru" that helped us. He came out in the dark, rain, and cold and very cheerfully and professionally helped us brainstorm what the issue might be and he solved it. We had to reset the tailgate and the alarm stopped. So grateful for his help and his very cheerful attitude. I love our Subaru, bought from our daughter in law, that bought from you but if we are ever in the market in the future, Matt is the first person i would contact. I sure hope I have his name right! Warmly Tawny and Gary. PS, he should get a raise! He's great for you!

Courtesy Subaru of Chico made a significant donation to the Enloe Medical Center Cardiovascular Care Center Campaign in April 2019, presenting a check for over $18,000 to hospital executives. Diane, Thank you so much for the generous blanket donation of your company and Subaru.Community support is so appreciated as we help these patients as they make their journey through the cancer experience. Cancer is challenging as it takes as much as it can get. The need to fight is real and sometimes a dark and fearful place. But, I can tell you first hand that when we give our patients reminders that a company in the community is there with them in their experience it is very comforting. With respect and appreciation, Kevin J. Fullerton RN MN Director, Cancer Center Adventist Health Feather River

On July 18, 2018, Erica from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) drove up from Sacramento to meet with Diane Pajouh of Courtesy Subaru of Chico to deliver 80 blankets, 10 arts and crafts kits and several reusable bags for patients. This is the second year of partnership between Subaru and LLS, and the hospital couldn’t be more grateful for the donation. We loved hearing how much the donation meant to not only the patients, but the staff as well. The hospital staff and social workers are excited to start passing out everything to patients! We absolutely love the partnership between Courtesy Subaru of Chico and LLS and hope we can continue providing hope, warmth and care to cancer patients at Adventist Health Feather River Cancer Center in the years to come. Thank you again!

A very generous check was donated to an important health care center in Chico Thursday April 26, 2018. Courtesy Subaru of Chico donated a $7,147.22 check to the Enloe Foundation. The contribution brings Courtesy Automotive Centers total donations over the course of three years to $52,472. The money was raised from Subaru vehicles sold over the Holiday Season through Subaru USA's Share the Love Campaign. "We would never be able to do what we do and we would never be able to fulfill our mission if it wasn't for generous businesses and folks like this and the effort of the community to support us," said Mike Wiltermood, the CEO of Enloe Medical Center. "Well, it is always nice to re-invest in our community. I think it's very important for all of us to give back so that's what we try to do during the course of the year and be able to give back," said Jerry Pajouh, CEO and President of the Courtesy Subaru of Chico. Currently, the Enloe Foundation is focusing on building an expanded Cardiovascular Care Center on the hospital's Esplanade Campus.

LLS Sacramento's partnership with Subaru is one-of-a-kind, but the experience with Courtesy Subaru of Chico and Feather River Hospital in Paradise was extra special. I've attended most of the blanket drop-offs for our chapter, but I had the most wonderful time at this one because we were able to give blankets directly to the patients ourselves. It put a huge smile on my face to see them smile, and to provide hope and comfort to someone who's already gone through so much already. I loved Diane's passion for Subaru supporting the local community and Kevin's big heart for his patients, staff and the hospital overall. Everyone welcomed LLS and Subaru with smiles and thanks, and I couldn't have been more honored to be part of this opportunity and hope Subaru will continue their partnership with LLS in the future!

While getting a new car is always an exciting adventure, the journey has not always been easy/pleasant in the past at other dealerships. Leasing our new Subaru Forester from Chico Courtesy Automotive was a wonderfully new experience for us. EVERY SINGLE PERSON WE ENCOUNTERED over the last three days from Scott and Benny in the Service Department, to Jerry the owner, Matt and Isaac our salesmen, to Cameron in Finance, and Dave the Subaru Manager, we were greeted with a genuine smile and were listened to intently as to what our needs were. When viewing the cars, we were shown a variety of options and NOT PRESSURED! When we decided on a Forester, the car available did not have all the options we wanted and Dave, the manager was able to secure one by the following day. Isaac went above and way beyond explaining thoroughly, information about our new purchase and then took us for a ride demonstrating all the features. He was exceptionally patient with our multitude of questions, and we never felt we were taking up too much of his time. What we noticed throughout our experience, was the use of the word "FAMILY" by so many different individuals; that we were part of their family now. We were assured by EVERYONE, that if we have any questions to come by or call them personally. We strongly suggest visiting Courtesy Automotive for the BEST car purchase/lease and/or service experience you will ever have.We feel we are truly part of their family now.

Diane and daughter Jesika Pajouh from Subaru of Chico, along with Lezlie Hayes from LLS Greater Sacramento chapter donate 65 Subaru Leukemia Lymphoma Society blankets, messages of hope notes and bracelets to Feather River Cancer Center. This significant contribution to our program will help speed the construction of the new Cardiovascular Care Center at Enloe allowing us to serve more patients with improved access, deploy new and exciting technologies now available, and importantly recruit the next generation of highly trained physicians to rural Northern California.
